Arenal Volcano National Park
1. Hot Springs
The Arenal volcano feeds a number of hot springs in the area. Hot springs are relaxing for body and soul. They are healthy and rejuvenating because of the minerals dissolved in the water, which is naturally heated by the volcano. There's a hot spring for every taste and budget.
The national park itself is best for hiking and seeing the volcano. The trails are very nicely maintained and great for walking. The trails, Sendero Colada 1968 and Tucanes are relatively short at 3.4 and 2 kilometer and they pass through secondary forest and lava fields.
Experience the thrill of rafting down Rio Balsa on a white-water adventure! You’ll navigate Class II and III rapids as you pass through a lush rain forest landscape. Or try Rio Toro and prepare to take the plunge if you are ready to try class III and IV rapids!
